ISA Training Division and UAV Mobile Station Extend Invitation To Attend Drone Briefing and Demonstration

Update: Attention Law Enforcement, ISA contacted the UAV team for George Mason University today, (2/10/18) and discovered they just went on line last week. We needed to discuss flight restrictions and the drone demonstration for the 17th of March. Later this afternoon we spoke to the Maryland Capital Park Police and they were in the middle of a search and rescue exercise with a borrowed drone.

So what? Ok, that’s two very different police departments now using drones and both are in the growing stage for their drone programs. This is the next thing law enforcement better get on board with, or find themselves obsolete compared to the private sector.  So if you’re a law enforcement agency, organization, team, squad, or officer and you can get to George Mason University on March 17th at 1400, (earlier if you want to attend lunch with the drone SMEs) I invite you to do so. Its free, ISA is paying the bill for the briefing and demonstration, so what have you got to lose?

Original Post: On March 17th, 2018 starting at 1400 the students and instructors of the ISA Dignitary & Executive Protection Course will welcome the team from UAV Mobile Station to the campus of George Mason University as they give a briefing and scenario-based demonstration on the use of drones for static security, law enforcement, counter-terrorism and executive protection.

This is not the first time the drone specialists of mobile station have visited an ISA program. The mobile station team was invited by the ISA CEO Matthew Parker to conduct a similar demonstration for the City of Charlotte North Carolinas, Special Operations and Executive Protection units in 2017.  With their partners at the Montgomery Community College’s NC Public Safety Drone Academy, Mobile Station conducts demonstrations around the country, and the academy provides free training to law enforcement.

Drones are a serious threat but an equally important tool for today’s executive protection agent. Conducting surveillance and counter surveillance, site surveys and advance work, route reconnaissance, and static security can all be improved or enhanced by the use of drones and a properly trained operator. But counter drone measures are a growing part of any serious dignitary and executive protection program as well, and we feel its as critical as any other security measure we employ today.

ISA invites you to attend this briefing and demonstration on Saturday, March 17th on the campus of George Mason University.
