RE: Notification of Dignitary and Executive Protection Training

Now posted to the ISA web site

To Law Enforcement and Security Professionals,

Given the unprecedented level of threats being made against elected officials, both before and after the unbelievable acts of violence on January 6th in our nation’s capital, state and local law enforcement as well as a growing number of private executive protection agents have been challenged unlike any time in the past and required to provide close protection to a growing number of officials.

The Law enforcement and intelligence community have reported a growing number of threats to federal, state, and local officials from mayors and county executives to health & election officials and candidates for office. All the way up to Governors and Members of Congress. Some of these threats have moved past hostile e-mails and phone calls to direct action planning and surveillance. Currently, it’s believed these threats will increase as we approach the 2022 mid-term election cycle.

State executive leadership and election officials
Governors from Michigan & Virginia
State and local health officials

In order to prepare troopers, officers, and deputies as well as those in the private security industry for these types of assignments and responsibilities, as well as to help agencies mitigate these threats, we have scheduled our 70+ hour fully accredited Dignitary and Executive Protection Training Course with a special emphasis on the security of elected & public officials in Maryland and Georgia.

The next course is March 22nd – 28th, 2021 in Oxon Hill Maryland hosted and sponsored by the MGM Grand National Harbor Security Department.

Followed by April 19th – 25th, 2021 in Lawrenceville Georgia hosted and sponsored by the Gwinnett County Sheriffs Department Dignitary Protection Detail.

Note** Both programs are approved or accredited for In-service and continuing education credits for law enforcement by multiple agencies and is approved for an officer’s permanent training record by the Department of Public Safety in North Carolina. In addition, for private security and executive protection agents, this is an approved alternative training course for the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice 32E Personal Protection Specialist credential and approved for continuing education credits or hours for Private Investigators in North & South Carolina.

So whether next week or next month, we would like to invite law enforcement to enroll those assigned to close protection duties, and for those same agencies and departments to send their training officers and or academy instructors to audit training. You are welcome to take back to your departments some of the training materials and lesson plans for your own in-service EP programs.

For non-law enforcement and commercial security companies, we have opened these two courses for your officers and agents to attend. We welcome the opportunity to work alongside students with all different experience levels. Please review the attendance requirements
